VoIP Proxy is a high-performance, configurable server which can act as SIP registrar,
proxy or redirect server. As a registrar, it accepts REGISTER requests and places the
information it receives in those requests into the location service for the domain it
handles. It will consult a location service that maps a received URI to the user agent(s)
at which the desired recipient is currently residing.
As a proxy, it acts as both a server and a client for the purpose of making requests on
behalf of other clients. A proxy server primarily plays the role of routing, which means
its job is to ensure that request is sent to another entity "closer" to the targeted user.
VoIP proxy can be configured for many scenarios including small-office use, enterprise
PBX replacements and carrier services.
